Venice

As part of our ten year celebrations, we took an office trip to Venice! The whole team came along, Darren, Jen, Rita, Lydia, Jack, Dom and Connor. We took in all the 18th Biennale Architettura (International Architecture Exhibition 2023) had to offer, explored the streets and canals of Venice and consumed our body weights in pizza and pasta. There might have been a few Campari Spritz too….

Check out the reel on our instagram for the highlights.

Welcome Connor!

This September, we are welcoming a new Part I Architectural Assistant to the office. Connor Tweedie is joining us having recently graduated from the Macintosh School of Architecture. His favourite university project, titled “A Dance Hall for Equality” envisioned a new community space which fostered a more equal, fair and diverse culture than the original Glaswegian dance hall typology. Alongside his studies, Connor was also a member of the Glasgow school of arts queer society, where the group would raise, and discuss concerns over discrimination and disadvantage within the industry.

Outside of architecture, Connor has a passion for aviation, and when given the opportunity, has even been known to fly planes himself. Welcome Connor!

Planning Success!

A constricted, sloping site gave opportunity for a subtle timber framed courtyard dining area, leading through to a kitchen flooded with light. Exposed danish brick and raw plaster finishes compliment the space. Elsewhere we are looking at environmental upgrades and internal alterations.

Planning Success!

After a looooong 6 month wait, we have planning permission for the first phase of works at our project in the St Albans Conservation Area.

Our clients briefed us to increase the light in their rather dark Victorian property. Our design includes a reconfiguration and extension of the ground floor, which includes an up-and-over window with earthy orange-brown patina of corten cladding, complimenting the original harling render and red bricks.
