Spring 2022
Hello – it’s been a while! We’re back with our Spring 2022 newsletter, celebrating our recent feature in 25 Beautiful Homes Magazine. We’ve got a giveaway of a new RIBA book on skilful design for small spaces featuring several of our projects. We welcome our recent recruit, Dominic. And we celebrate the work of Project Architect Rita at the Royal Society of Ulster Architects.
Squeezing It In: new book featuring Darren Oldfield Architects!
We’re in a book! Published in January 2022, Squeezing It In by Mary Leslie is all about creative design for compact living. The book offers a range of innovative solutions to familiar problems, from bathrooms to staircases, in an easy-to-read format, for interior designers, architects and anyone with an interest in compact design. Details from several of our projects feature, including the Notting Hill Apartment, Apartment Refurbishment and Extension, Chelsea, Ryedale, East Dulwich and Dylways, Denmark Hill.

We Won!! Darren Oldfield Architects wins LABC London Awards
We are delighted to announce that we were announced the winners of the LABC London award 2019 for best alteration or extension to an existing home. Our beautiful Choumert House in Peckham was the winning project announced at the LABC regional awards ceremony at the Guildhall, home of the City of London Corporation. Needless to say we are over the moon to see this particularly beautiful project recognised in this way!
Autumn 2018
The slow, warm slide towards the Autumn has given us a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come since we began in October 2013. We’ve just celebrated our five year anniversary, and our most recent appointment to the practice, Phil, also brings our staff up to five! We’re pleased to see that our ethos of light, thoughtfully designed, voluminous spaces for living is working so well for our clients: you can see a snapshot of a couple of our projects below. We’re proud to invest in our majority-female staff, and pleased that the rest of the industry is beginning to address the gender imbalances that have long existed within Architecture. Despite one of the hottest summers on record in London, we’ve also had no shortage of new projects and enquiries.
We are hiring!!

Featured in Ideal Home Magazine
Our Ryedale project in East Dulwich was recently featured in the June 2018 edition of Ideal Home Magazine. As our clients explain, extending upwards into the loft made their home calmer, lighter and more fit for purpose.
